Make Your Voice Heard - Work Towards a Turf

How to Get Your Voice Heard

Supporting a Hockey Turf for the City of Stirling

The 2025 City of Stirling local elections are fast approaching, and now is the time to make sure our voices are heard loud and clear. As members, families, and supporters of North Coast Raiders Hockey Club, we know the incredible benefits that sport brings to our community. What we need now is the right facilities — including a long overdue artificial hockey turf in our City.

Here’s how you can play your part:

1. Contact Local Election Candidates Directly

The most effective way to make an impact is to let candidates know that community sport matters to you.

  • Write them an email or letter explaining why a hockey turf would benefit families, schools, and the community.

  • Keep it personal — share your own story about why a local facility would make a difference.

  • We’ve prepared letter templates you can use to make this easy.

2. Spread the Word on Social Media

Social media is a powerful tool to raise awareness.

  • Share posts from the club and use hashtags like #StirlingHockeyTurf and #HaveYourSay.

  • Tag candidates and encourage respectful discussion about the importance of local facilities.

  • Post photos of our club in action to show the size and passion of our community.

3. Talk to Family, Friends, and Neighbours

Sometimes the simplest conversations make the biggest impact.

  • Let people know about the issue and why it matters to families across Stirling.

  • Encourage them to also contact candidates or share posts online.

  • The more voices speaking up, the harder it is to ignore.

4. Show Up and Be Seen

Community presence is powerful.

  • Attend council meetings, candidate forums, or local events.

  • Wear your Raiders gear or club colours — a visible show of support makes a statement.

  • Be ready with a polite but clear question: “Will you support a hockey turf in Stirling?”

5. Keep the Momentum Going

Change takes persistence.

  • Keep talking about the turf at training, games, and social events.

  • Celebrate and share every small step forward.

  • Remind candidates that this is not a passing issue — it’s a long-term community priority.

Together, We Can Make It Happen

A hockey turf in Stirling would be a game-changer — not just for North Coast Raiders Hockey Club, but for schools, families, and the entire community. With your help, we can make sure candidates know how important this project is and hold them accountable after the election.

Your voice matters. Let’s use it.
